Get to Know Us

Since 1990, Anthony L. Vennero has managed sales territories for several global industry leaders, including Rexnord Power Transmission Components, General Electric Industrial Systems, Johnson Controls Building Controls & Automation, and Carrier HVAC Systems. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Business.

An adjunct professor at SUNY POLY since 2000, Anthony transitioned full‑time into academia in 2010 when he joined Hartwick College in Oneonta as a professor of business management and marketing. While teaching he founded Potentia Management Group in 2014, a consulting and electrical contracting organization specializing in energy‑efficiency and sustainability‑focused projects.

Through his work with contractors and customers, Anthony identified a consistent industry gap: while many contractors excel technically, they often lack the business disciplines required for long‑term success—particularly marketing, strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational management. Drawing on his academic background and his experience working for some of the world’s best‑managed companies, he applied these principles to a contracting business. Potentia Management Group was built to bridge this gap by combining strong technical capability with disciplined business strategy.

This approach positioned Potentia as one of the top energy‑efficiency partners for National Grid, the major utility provider across Upstate New York.

Today, Potentia Management Group is expanding its proven business model into full‑service commercial and residential electrical contracting across Upstate New York and the State of Florida, bringing the same strategic, results‑driven approach to a broader range of electrical services.
